Vehicle-specific permit

Costs are made up of permit charges plus surcharges. The total cost of your permit will be shown in your online parking account when applying for a permit.

Permit charge

  • Battery electric vehicles: have a separate charge band (battery electric vehicles mean vehicles with wholly electrical power, and charged from an external electrical source)
  • Vehicles registered after 1 March 2001 (combustion engine vehicles): If your vehicle was registered after 1 March 2001, the cost is based on the environmental impact of your vehicle – see GOV.UK for details on how much CO2 your vehicle produces (g/km).
  • Vehicles registered before 1 March 2001 (combustion engine vehicles): If your vehicle was registered before March 2001, your vehicle's CO2 emissions

Diesel vehicles surcharge

Diesel vehicles must pay an extra £80.

Vehicle size surcharge

A vehicle size surcharge applies for larger vehicles. The surcharge will be automatically calculated in your parking account when you apply:

  • vehicles from 4m to 4.499m in length – a 5% surcharge applies
  • vehicles from 4.5m in length – a 10% surcharge applies
