Latest news and background to The Selby Centre project.
Following 4 years of co-design with the Selby Trust and engagement with the local community, we submitted planning applications to both Enfield and Haringey’s Local Planning Authorities in December for the Selby Village Masterplan (PDF, 103 pages, 36.6MB).
The London Borough of Enfield approved the Selby Urban Village Phase 1 planning application on 28 January 2025.
The Haringey Planning Committee is currently scheduled to decide on Phase 2 application in early March 2025.
The Selby Centre, a large community hub, is housed in a former secondary school in north Tottenham, on the border with Enfield, and is managed by the Selby Trust. The centre is home to over 100 diverse social action organisations delivering significant social impact to communities across the borough.

The multi-million pound project is being delivered through a partnership between Haringey Council and the Selby Trust, and is part of our commitment to make a greener and fairer place for all.
Over the past 4 years, together with the Selby Trust, we have been working closely with architects, businesses and charities within the Selby Trust, as well as its users and neighbouring residents and community groups to develop the design proposals for the Selby Urban Village Project.

In March 2019, Haringey Council and the Selby Trust signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). The MOU sets out joint aspirations and agrees ways of working between the partners to ensure the successful re-provision and development of the Selby site.
We are working in partnership with the Selby Trust to create a new Selby Urban Village, made up of new homes, including council homes, new sporting facilities, a new park and a new Selby Centre, which will be at the heart of the new community.
