When you book a collection you must:

  • put the knotweed in garden sacks in the place you cut it down
  • not put it in any bin or move it across the garden
  • make sure the bag does not have soil in it
  • use 2 bags to completely seal it

You do not legally have to destroy it, but if it spreads to other gardens you could face prosecution.
