Haringey residents are now able to recycle textiles from the comfort of their own home. You will be able to book a home collection for items such as clothes and shoes.
Textile items collection
Recycling clothes, shoes and other accessories just got easier and quicker for residents in Haringey thanks to the launch of our partnership with TRAID.
Fashion reuse charity TRAID already has a shop in Wood Green and has now joined forces with Haringey Council to offer a free collection service to all households, helping recycle garments that otherwise would go to landfill.
Residents with a bin liner full of clothing items or more, can book a slot online or by phone and the charity will come and pick up the unwanted items from the doorstep.
TRAID will collect clean and dry clothes, paired shoes, accessories, jewellery and linens such as curtains, but they will not be able to collect duvets or pillows. They will also be able to take worn-out clothing to recycle its fabric.
How it works:
- make a free booking on the TRAID website
- TRAID’s friendly driver will arrive in a TRAID branded van to collect your donations at your scheduled time.
- or call TRAID directly on 020 8733 2595
Speak to a real person and schedule your clothes collection effortlessly!
Residents that have used the service already said:
It was seamless from start to finish and easy to plan around when the driver would arrive
Convenient to get rid of far more stuff that I could have carried to the charity shop on foot
