You must make sure your rubbish is being legally disposed of. If it is illegally dumped, you could be fined up to £50,000.

Before you book

Check if a person or business is on the register of waste carriers, brokers and dealers on the environment agency website. 

If the company is registered, you must also:

• ask where your rubbish is going
• make a note of their vehicle licence number
• keep hold of paperwork
• get a receipt
