CARIS Haringey Charity: support for homeless families

CARIS advice service is designed to assist homeless families in Haringey in dealing with their everyday challenges, including evictions, benefits decisions, debt, violence, unemployment, poverty, lack of opportunity and isolation. 

How to get support:

To receive support from CARIS, a referral form must be completed by a professional. However, you can contact CARIS if you have any questions.

Equipment and adaptations

Information from Haringey's Social Care and Health Service on equipment, adaptations, occupational therapy and help with hearing and sight loss. 
 

National Autistic Society

The UK's leading charity for autistic people and their families provides support, guidance, advice, and more.

Their advice and guidance section has a wide range of information about autism, including diagnosis, behaviour, communication, loneliness, sensory differences, mental health, benefits and money, education, and more.

Scope: charity for disability equality

Scope is a charity in England and Wales dedicated to disability equality. They offer practical information, emotional support, family and employment services, and a wide range of advice and support, including information on benefits, legal matters, and disability equipment.

Blanche Nevile School for the Deaf - secondary school

The secondary school at Blanche Nevile School for the Deaf provides a high-quality education for deaf and hearing-impaired children from all areas of London. It is co-located with Fortismere Mainstream School and offers a unique signed bilingual model of communication for these children.

The Brook on Broadwaters

The Brook on Broadwaters is for pupils aged 4 - 11 years.

It specialises in co-educational day school provision for children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, profound, severe and complex learning difficulties plus associated physical, sensory, medical, communication and emotional needs.

The Grove School

The Grove School is a specialist school in Haringey which caters for pupils aged 5 to 19 who have a primary diagnosis of autism.

Many pupils have additional needs including, speech and language difficulties or difficulties associated with social communication. The school offers educational pathways for pupils who are working within the semi-formal curriculum through to GCSE examinations.
