Equipment and adaptations

Information from Haringey's Social Care and Health Service on equipment, adaptations, occupational therapy and help with hearing and sight loss. 
 

Bursary Fund for 16-19-year-olds

You could get a bursary to help with education-related costs if you’re aged 16 to 19 and:

  • studying at a publicly funded school or college in England - not a university
  • on a training course, including unpaid work experience
  • A publicly funded school is one that does not charge you for attending it.

Haringey Shed Charity

Haringey Shed is an inclusive theatre and performing arts company for children and young people. They provide a range of term-time after-school activities and holiday programmes, as well as outreach work in the community, working in local schools, nurseries, and community centres.

They believe every young person should have access to a safe, respectful and creative environment regardless of their ability and background.

Universal health services (NHS)

Haringey borough has a wide range of health services for children and young people aged 0-25, including GPs, pharmacists, dental services, optometrists, and hospital services—available to everyone based on the individual’s health needs.

How to get support if you're a parent or carer:

Children with special educational needs and disabilities can access these services directly without needing a referral.

These services are known as ‘universal’ because they are available to everyone.

Empowering Deaf Society (EDS) Charity

Empowering Deaf Society (EDS) is a Deaf-led charity dedicated to improving the quality of life for deaf people by ensuring that all Deaf people have equal access and equality of opportunity without discrimination.

They deliver services aimed at providing support through information and advice, signposting, workshops and events, and signature-accredited BSL Courses across Greater London.
