Council Tax discounts, reductions and exemptions

You may qualify for one of the following council tax discounts, reductions, or exemptions:

Bursary Fund for 16-19-year-olds

You could get a bursary to help with education-related costs if you’re aged 16 to 19 and:

studying at a publicly funded school or college in England - not a university
on a training course, including unpaid work experience
A publicly funded school is one that does not charge you for attending it.

Scope: charity for disability equality

Scope is a charity in England and Wales dedicated to disability equality. They offer practical information, emotional support, family and employment services, and a wide range of advice and support, including information on benefits, legal matters, and disability equipment.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS)

The Haringey Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) is provided by Markfield. SENDIASS is a free, impartial and confidential service for Haringey residents.

They offer the following to parents, carers, and children and young people who have (or may have) SEND:

The Brook on Broadwaters

The Brook on Broadwaters is for pupils aged 4 - 11 years.

It specialises in co-educational day school provision for children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, profound, severe and complex learning difficulties plus associated physical, sensory, medical, communication and emotional needs.

Riverside Secondary School

Riverside is a co-educational maintained secondary special school located on the same site Woodside High School.

Students at Riverside experience a wide range of learning challenges, from the highest functioning to the most complex, including general, moderate, complex, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties.

Most students transition to college at year 11, but a small cohort stays at Riverside for their Post-16 years, where they also take a range of accredited courses.

Vale School - primary

The Vale School Primary Department is co-located with Lancasterian Primary School – children are taught by specialist teachers in small class groups with other children with similar needs, with appropriate inclusion opportunities.
