Children's Community Physiotherapy Service (NHS)

The Children's Community Physiotherapy Service is an NHS-run service that offers a specialist paediatric physiotherapy service for babies, children, and young people with disabilities and those with movement problems impacting their development and ability to engage in everyday activities.

POhWER: charity and free advocacy services

POhWER is a charity that offers free advocacy, information, and advice services to help people who find it difficult to express their views or access support due to disability, illness, social exclusion, or other challenges. 

In Haringey, POhWER provides services such as Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA), Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA), Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA), and Care Act Advocacy. These services empower individuals by ensuring their voices are heard and their rights upheld.

Portage service for children under five

Haringey's Portage Team comprises skilled play specialists who assist families with children under five with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND).

Their goal is to enhance child development through everyday practical play approaches. They work with children, supports parents/carers and collaborate with schools and settings.

We are a warm and welcoming group of parents and carers of children and young people with SEND in Haringey.

We aim to offer support to each other, share information, listen to our members’ experiences and views, and give a collective voice to parents and carers of children with SEND in Haringey.

We hope that our strong, shared voice will mean that services for our children and young people will improve.
