Financial support for carers
Lighten The Load campaign
Lighten the Load (external link) is a campaign from Carers First. It aims to raise awareness of the financial support available to carers and increase the number accessing that support.
The campaign is a response to a survey conducted by Carers First which found that:
- more than 9 out of 10 carers are worried about the cost of living
- 9 out of 10 carers are losing sleep because they are concerned about how to afford the basic essentials
- more than half are already in debt, or will be soon, owing to their caring responsibilities
- a third are going without food on a regular basis
The campaign will be running across a range of channels throughout October and your support could help us reach more carers.
