UK Power Networks major roadworks project

Road closures in and around Philip Lane, January to April 2025

UK Power Networks (UKPN) are carrying out works on Philip Lane, N15 to install new electricity cables to the Bus Station to power their expanding fleet of low-emission electric buses.

There are three stages to the works with various traffic measures in place, starting on Friday 31 January 2025 and plan to finish on 16 April 2025, however the same traffic measures will not remain in place for this entire period.

UKPN and TfL understands the disruption this will cause and are working with us to minimise this as much as possible, with work taking place during school holidays where possible. These works will see electric buses used more across Haringey and lower emissions throughout the borough.

Phase 3: Sunday 6 April to Wednesday 16 April 2025

The road will be closed on one side from outside the bus garage, and vehicles wanting to access High Road can follow the diversion route down West Green Road.

There will also be a one lane closure on High Road at the junction with Philip Lane.
Pedestrian access will remain throughout, as well as access to Tottenham Green Leisure Centre.

Bus diversions and stop closures

Transport for London will operate the following bus diversions during phase 3 of this project from Sunday 6 April to Wednesday 16 April 2025.

Route 341

This route will be diverted from Philip Lane along Town Hall Approach Road and Tottenham Green East before rejoining its route along Tottenham High Road.

Route 230

This route will be diverted along Town Hall Approach, into Tottenham High Road, and into Broad Lane before rejoining its route on Ferry Lane.

Bus stop ‘T’ on Philip Lane will not be in use during this phase.

Changes to low traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs)

The below LTN camera-controlled enforcement in the Bruce Grove West Green LTN will be temporarily suspended during the three phases of works (31 January to 5 February, 16 February to 24 February and 6 April to 16 April).

Please note, enforcement will resume during the periods between each phase.

  • The no-entry at the north end of Mount Pleasant Road
  • The Avenue junction with Sperling Road
  • Broadwater Road junction with The Avenue

This will allow traffic to traverse the LTN through Mount Pleasant Road, The Avenue, and Broadwater Road during the disruptive phases of works.
