Our investments are guided by a clear vision: to make Haringey a fairer, greener, and safer place for everyone.
Fairer
We are tackling inequality by expanding access to support and opportunity.
Last year we supported:
- almost 3,920 vulnerable residents through adult social care
- more than 5,000 children through children’s social care
- 2,630 households in temporary accommodation
In addition, over 8,000 children now receive free school meals, and more than 5,700 households have been supported through the Haringey Support Fund.
What this looks like in practise:
- Children’s Services awarded a 'Good' OFSTED rating
- SEND services achieved the highest OFSTED rating
- opened 4 new family hubs in Wood Green, Northumberland Park, Muswell Hill, and Seven Sisters
- provided council tax relief to 24,759 families
- helped 1,240 residents into jobs via Haringey Works
- delivered £47M investment into school repairs and renovations
- ensured our 4 leisure centres are now publicly run, with £6M more investment planned

Greener
To meet our climate goals, our pioneering Haringey Community Carbon Fund is supporting dozens of community-led projects that reduce carbon emission as well as helping to promote wellbeing and tackle inequalities.
In addition, we have:
- planted over 1,600 street trees
- created 6 Tiny Forests
- co-designed 17 wildflower meadows with local communities
- built 35 rain gardens to reduce flood risk and funded 36 local climate projects.
- upgraded 5 tennis courts
- built 2 new astroturf pitches
- supported cleaner air with 194 new EV chargers – now totalling 292 borough-wide

Safer
Safety is a top priority – we have:
- installed or upgraded 63 CCTV cameras
- created 33 Safe Havens for women and girls
- Haringey’s Youth Justice Service improved to a 'Good' rating
- became the first council to publicly back a ban on gambling advertising
- rolled out 239 secure bike hangars
Three Low Traffic Neighbourhoods have been made permanent to reduce through-traffic and improve air quality.
Together, these actions are helping to create a borough that’s more equal, more sustainable, and more secure for everyone.
