Amaze report - embedding co-production in Haringey
Haringey Council Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Service wants to develop outstanding services for children with SEND and we believe that to achieve this it is vital that we work collaboratively with parents and carers to develop these services.
To do this we need to better engage with the parents/carers of children and young people with SEND.
To help us better understand the needs and wishes of parents and carers of children with SEND regarding communication, consultation, and participation we commissioned an independent report from Amaze Sussex.
Amaze engaged with a wide range of parent carers and professionals to gather information regarding parent carer participation and co-production and produced this report. The report has clear findings and recommendations for how the Haringey SEND service can better work with parents to develop excellent parent/carer engagement and participation.
Haringey SEND Service want co-production at the heart of service improvements. The Amaze report provides us with a starting point on our journey to excellent co-production and outstanding services.
Using this report as our basis our next steps will be to start a further consultation process with parents to ensure we can develop the type of parental communication, consultation, participation and co-production you want.
