Activities for young people

Eligibility

The Project 2020 hub provides a safe space for young people aged 10 to 19 to participate in structured activities 5 evenings a week.

A registration and consent form will need to be completed by a parent/guardian – please email Project2020@haringey.gov.uk if you are interested.

Young people can also access opportunities to go on educational and social trips to widen their knowledge and raise their aspirations. For example, this includes sponsorship to undertake the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Homework club

The homework club enables young people to access the support and help they need to complete their homework in an informal setting. This includes access to computers and laptops and individual one-to-one support to aid them with their progression and identify any extra needs.

Create 20X20 Music and Media project

The hub benefits from having a music studio and recording booth and offers young people the opportunity to participate in a weekly music workshop that teaches them various aspects of production, recording and mixing music.

Callisthenics

We have partnered with Raza Sana, a community health and wellbeing initiative, to deliver a physical activity programme for the young people and residents who use the service.

Cooking club

We deliver fun cooking sessions where young people can learn new knowledge and skills while having fun.

Half term programmes

The half term programmes delivered over the course of the year attract an average of 30 to 40 young people a week.

Fun activities include:

  • team building challenges
  • trips
  • cooking
  • arts and crafts
  • outdoor sports
  • quizzes
  • talent shows
  • first aid
  • bike maintenance
  • health and wellbeing

Life skills

We provide life skills sessions once a week to empower young people with the confidence to transition into adulthood.

Sessions include employability, health and wellbeing, financial education and anything young people feel they need to know as they grow up.

Sessions are designed to be as interactive and varied as possible, creating a supportive and fun environment to develop and learn.
