Tottenham Heritage Walks with Bruce Castle Museum and Archive bring you a free and fascinating Jewish History Walking tour around Tottenham.

Starting outside Costa Coffee at the corner of Tottenham High Road and West Green Road in South Tottenham, your guide Carol Hebbs (Tottenham Heritage Walks) leads you on a tour along Tottenham High Road sharing stories and community histories about Jewish-owned shops and businesses once found there.
It highlights important places for the community: the former High Cross synagogue of the Tottenham Hebrew Congregation, and the previous Jewish Home and Hospital on the High Road. It also looks at the hostility experienced in the area after the Aliens Act of 1905 and the ‘Tottenham Outrage’ incident in 1909.
Stories told include those of workers at the former large factories at Tottenham Hale - the world class names Lebus and Gestetner employed thousands, many from working class Jewish families who settled in the streets between The Hale and Lansdowne Road. The tour continues up Bruce Grove and ends at Bruce Castle Museum and Archive.
Just outside the Museum in the Park is the Holocaust Memorial Garden of Remembrance. A place of reflection, here some of the testimonies of Holocaust survivors who settled in Haringey will be remembered.
Meet at 10.15am for 10.30am start outside Costa Coffee on the corner of Tottenham High Road and West Green Road (261 Tottenham High Road, Tottenham N15 4RR).
The tour lasts approximately 2 hours and ends at Bruce Castle Museum. Please wear sensible footwear for walking and dress appropriately for the weather.
