Local residents are “breathing a sigh of relief” after swift action from Haringey Council resulted in eviction for illegal occupants who were using a property in Stroud Green as a base for criminal activity and antisocial behaviour.
The council was informed in August by a resident of Stroud Green Road that a neighbouring property was illegally occupied and being used for drug use and dealing.
The council’s ASB Enforcement and Housing teams worked quickly alongside the local police Safer Neighbourhoods team to remove the illegal occupants from the property, which was subsequently secured to prevent further unauthorised access whilst arrangements are made to house legitimate tenants.
One resident of the street thanked council officers for their work, saying “you have really helped us breathe a sigh of relief after some really difficult days.”
