Cllr Peray Ahmet, Leader of Haringey Council, has issued a statement to offer support to our communities following the events that have taken place in Israel and Gaza over the weekend.
“We have all watched the unfolding events in Israel and Palestine with increasing shock and horror. The terror and loss of life is unfathomable.
“In a wonderful place like Haringey global events have huge local impacts and we know that for some of our residents and communities, the trauma is all the more acute and personal.
“There are many Haringey families with loved ones in the affected areas and our hearts go out to them. We have already been working with our communities to see what offer and support we can put in place.
“The Metropolitan Police have also issued a statement to say they will be putting on increased patrols to provide a visible presence and reassurance to our communities.
“Rest assured we are here to help our residents in any way we can, and you are not alone. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you need any support. We stand together as one community in Haringey.”
