This thought-provoking production, ‘Everything,’ aims to raise awareness and encourage community members to consider making a life-changing difference for vulnerable children in the area.
Over 100 local authorities across the country, including Haringey, have come together to support this inspiring initiative.
In 2024/25, Haringey aims to recruit 30 new foster carers. The film highlights the positive, long-term effects of fostering on everyone involved—not only the children in care but also the foster parents and their biological children.
The film was created with valuable input from foster carers and individuals with care experience. It was produced by Reel TwentyFive and project managed by CAN Digital and independent consultant, Rachel Brown.
Cllr Zena Brabazon, Cabinet Member for Children, Schools, and Families at Haringey Council, said:
We urgently need more foster carers in Haringey and beyond. This new film is incredibly powerful and moving. We hope it sparks conversations and encourages people to think about fostering.
By providing mental, physical, and emotional support to a vulnerable young person, you can truly transform their life and offer them a renewed sense of hope.
A huge ‘well done’ to everyone involved in this project for highlighting the critical need for more foster carers to support our most vulnerable children in Haringey.
Sarah Thomas, Chief Executive of the Fostering Network said:
It's great to see local authority fostering services pooling resources to produce another amazing film. 'Everything' will help to amplify their message about the chronic shortage of fostering households, encouraging more people to come forward and foster.
One of the main characters in the film, Chris, shows how important other family members are when it comes to fostering. This is something we champion throughout October, which is Children of Foster Carer's Month.
The new film builds on the success of last year’s award-winning production, “Any of Us,” which garnered two national awards from comms2point0 for ‘Best Collaboration’ and ‘Best Creative Comms.’
A screening of the film will be shown at the Family Hub, 91-93 St Ann’s Road, N15 6NU. Drop in anytime between 1pm -6pm (screenings at: 1.30pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm and 5pm) on Wednesday 23 October.
