Haringey’s voluntary and community sector organisations came together at Tottenham Town Hall on Thursday for the Haringey Community Showcase – an annual event which celebrates our incredible community organisations and the amazing work they do to support residents.

With stalls from over 50 local organisations, residents had a unique opportunity to connect with and meet local groups working to build a better Haringey through tackling issues from the green transition to food security, skills and employment.

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners of the 2024 Community Showcase Awards, which recognised the excellent work of organisations and individuals in Haringey’s voluntary sector across 9 categories.

Of particular note were The Daughters United, who were awarded Outstanding Organisation of the Year for their exceptional dedication to empowering women and youth in Haringey.

Wheely Tots – Moselle Community Project and Foodbank Volunteers took home the Hero Team or Volunteer of the Year award for their work delivering vital services to residents on Broadwater Farm.

The awards were announced by Mayor of Haringey, Cllr Sue Jameson, while Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Ajda Ovat, was also present to congratulate the winners.

The event was run by Haringey Community Collaborative, marking the first time this new initiative has held the event after taking over as Haringey’s VCS capacity building partner earlier this year.

The Community Showcase concluded with the announcement of the organisations who have been awarded funding through Haringey Community Collaborative’s Challenge Fund Round 1, which will be distributing vital funds to help support residents through the cost of living crisis.
