Met Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley visits Haringey and Enfield

The Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley visited Haringey and Enfield today to see the fantastic, cross-borough partnership work and progress taking place on the ‘Clear, Hold, Build’ project.

Having been given an initial overview of the initiative to date, Sir Mark was soon on a whistlestop walkabout around a few hotspot areas to get an even greater understanding of the local issues on the ground.

Sir Mark was accompanied on the tour by the Leader of Haringey Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet, the Deputy Leader of Enfield Council, Cllr Tim Leaver, and Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Ajda Ovat.

Sir Mark’s visit to the North Area Borough Command Unit was the first of three community safety events taking place in the east of the borough prior to the start of February.

There’s a designated Day of Action in Bruce Castle and Cllr Ovat’s Northumberland Park ward on Wednesday (29 January 2025), when N17 residents are encouraged to engage with council staff and the police on any local concerns or issues they may have.

St Ann’s will be the latest ward to feature in our bi-monthly Week of Action, with service teams from across the council on hand to discuss and further investigate any problems they are experiencing within that neighbourhood.
