Following an opening introduction from the Leader of Haringey Council, Cllr Peray Ahmet, and Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Ajda Ovat, it was over to the respective Chief Executives of Mind in Haringey and Public Voice, Lynette Charles and Dan Rogers.
Dan and Lynette gave an update on the priorities and progress – as well as the Year One impact – of the council’s VCS capacity-building partner, the Haringey Community Collaborative, before throwing it open to questions from the floor & a Q&A session with the assembled VCS representatives in attendance.
After a short break, those in attendance were invited to split up into workshop groups and have group table discussions on the following key topics: capacity-building support, community safety, the cost-of-living crisis, gaps or new priorities and mental health.
Cllr Ovat, Lynette and Dan then helped wrap up the meeting with an outline of the next steps and the co-production process at the Haringey Community Collaborative and how that will help mould and shape their priorities in the future.
Everyone at the council is looking forward to forging even better and closer ties with the VCS community here in our borough for the benefit of Haringey’s communities and residents.
