Tom Copley joined Haringey Council Leader Cllr Peray Ahmet, Deputy Leader Cllr Sarah Williams and London Assembly Member Joanne McCartney today (Monday 2 March 2026) to meet some of the families and individuals reaping the rewards of living in Birch Court and Holly Court on West Green Road, N15.
The scheme is part of the council’s multi-award-winning housebuilding programme to deliver 3,000 homes by 2031, with more than 1,000 already completed and a further 1,800 underway or with planning consent.
Cllr Sarah Williams, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning, said:
We are extremely proud of our ambitious housebuilding programme, and the completion of 46 more high-quality homes is another important milestone.
Our borough, like so much of London, desperately needs more genuinely affordable housing. This development gives individuals and local families the opportunity to live in secure, safe and comfortable homes.
I’m especially pleased to welcome Tom Copley so he can see first-hand how the support of the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, is helping us deliver a new generation of council homes that are truly transforming the lives of Haringey residents.
More than two-thirds of the properties will be family sized accommodation of two bedrooms or more. All feature private balconies or garden, giving tenants their own personal outside space.
Residents will benefit from new landscaping, trees and safety measures including CCTV and lighting. The scheme will be powered by 34 high-performance energy saving solar panels, keeping running costs low.
A communal heating system offers carbon emissions savings by supplying heating and hot water from a central source rather than individual, energy-intensive heating solutions such as gas boilers in individual properties.
The development transforms a site previously occupied by Red House Care Home.
