Local people were given the opportunity to have their say on plans to introduce new bus lanes and upgraded crossings on a key local route in the north of the borough.
The feedback from residents was overwhelming and they made it clear these proposals would not reduce congestion in the area which was a key issue for the community.
Cabinet Member for Resident Services and Tackling Inequality, Cllr Seema Chandwani, said:
“Following the traffic reviews that have taken place, we know that congestion is a big issue for the area.
““We can only get things right by engaging and listening and we have heard loud and clear that there are concerns about these proposals, and our residents and businesses were not confident this solution would work.
“We will continue to engage residents to look at a range of potential solutions and find a way forward together.
“We are very clear that we serve this borough with residents and will continue to work with our communities.”
