Engaging with Broadwater Farm residents – ways to get involved

Part of: Improving Broadwater Farm together

We work closely with the Broadwater Farm Residents' Association, community partners and resident focus groups to make sure all residents can get involved in shaping the future of Broadwater Farm in the best ways for them.

Some Broadwater Farm groups and activities residents can participate in are:

  • community centre user and provider focus group – online and in-person meetings to discuss the upgrades and improvements to the centre
  • estate walkabouts – quarterly residents’ estate walkabouts with the broadwater Farm team
  • annual community day – bringing the community together each summer for a day packed full of fun and activities for all
  • the Broadwater Farm Women’s Group – a dedicated women-only group that comes together for activities such as picnics and more.
  • public space improvement workshops – in-person workshops in the community centre and on the estate
  • online questionnaires and surveys – sharing your views and feedback on the Broadwater Farm Engagement Hub
  • pop-ups and door knocking – regular door knocking and pop-ups across the estate providing updates on the improvement programme
  • meet the contractor events and exhibitions – Opportunities for residents and the local community to meet our project partners and learn more about the ongoing works
  • community get-togethers – bringing the community to come together as friends and neighbours to celebrate Christmas, Ramadan, Windrush Day, Black History Month, Halloween, Easter and more
  • days of action – litter picking and working with community partners to support the estate
  • site visits – opportunities to visit similar developments delivered by Broadwater Farm project partners. Previous visits have included the Kings Cresent Estate in Hackney and the Gascoigne Estate in Barking
  • terrace gardens projects – there are community gardening projects at Debden and Croydon blocks. New beds are being installed at Lympne and will be available soon. Free plots also available in beds at Croydon Garden Terrace

If you’re a Broadwater Farm resident and you’d like to get involved in any of the above activities or you have any idea for a group, event, or activity our engagement team would love to hear from you. Please get in touch at bwf@haringey.gov.uk.
