Accessible toilet schemes

The Changing Places Map website is a database with 3,194 'Changing Places' toilets throughout the UK. 

There are 2299 facilities to the full specification that offer the facilities of a normal accessible toilet for disabled people but with extra features—7m² originally and now 12m² of space, an adult changing bench, and a hoist. These are essential for people who have a carer, have profound and multiple learning disabilities, or cannot reasonably use standard accessible toilets. You will need to bring your own sling.

Reasonable Adjustments in Schools: Vision Impairment

Guide Dogs Charity and the National Sensory Impairment Partnership (NatSIP) produced Reasonable Adjustments in Schools guidance.

This guidance is designed to help teachers, schools, and local authorities ensure that the UK's 41,000 children and young people with vision impairment can access better support throughout their education.

Haringey Sensory Support Team – Vision

The Vision Support Team consists of specialist advisory teachers (QTVIs), a specialist support worker, and a Habilitation Specialist (mobility and independent living skills) who offer a range of support for children and young people with a diagnosis of vision impairment.

They work in all Haringey mainstream educational settings and become involved with families and children from their diagnosis, often as young babies.

Their work includes supporting and advising teaching staff, families, and carers throughout a child’s educational journey.
