Improving bus journeys

A better-connected Haringey.

This consultation ran from 3 November to 28 November 2025.

Thank you to all those who shared their views on the proposed improvements to bus journeys and pedestrian safety along Durnsford Road, Albert Road and Alexandra Park Road.

Thank you to all who have provided their feedback on the Council’s proposals; your views have been carefully considered, and we are planning to take a decision on week commencing 2 March 2026.

What we consulted on

We are committed to creating a borough with a reliable and well-connected public transport network that makes it easier for everyone to get around. Public transport is a vital alternative to car travel, helping to reduce congestion, improve air quality, and support our environmental and health goals.

To make public transport a more convenient and appealing choice, we are working with Transport for London and other partners to improve bus priority measures and road layouts, and to create safer walking and cycling routes to transport hubs. These changes will help ensure that buses are frequent, reliable and accessible for all communities across the borough.

We asked for your views on proposed improvements to bus journeys and pedestrian safety along Durnsford Road, Albert Road and Alexandra Park Road.

The proposals include:

  • new bus lanes to reduce delays and improve journey times
  • upgraded pedestrian crossings to make walking safer and easier
  • changes to parking arrangements to support better traffic flow and bus reliability

These changes aim to make public transport more efficient and accessible, while improving safety for everyone who uses these streets.

The consultation ran from 3 November to 28 November 2025.
