Outcome of statutory consultation and works notice – proposed parking bays for existing lamp column EVCPs
In March and April 2023, we consulted on a proposal to install designated Parking Bays for Existing Lamp Column Electric Vehicle Charging Points (LCEVCPs). We received a good response to the consultation and, on behalf of the council, we would like to thank all those who took the time to have their say and make their views known.
Full details of all the comments can be found in a report now available on the council’s minutes website.
As part of the decision-making process, we have considered all representations and now approved introduction of the parking bays at 22 locations listed in the outcome of statutory consultation and works notice letter below – see also the detailed plans for each site below.
The works for installation of the bays on site will start the week commencing Monday 16 September 2024 and we expect for all to be in place by 4 October 2024, this will include painting and refreshing road markings, and installing new replacement signs and adjustment to some posts where required. The works will not take more than a couple of hours at each location.
If it’s necessary, we might need to suspend parking to enable us to complete the works. Those who do not comply with the suspension will have their vehicles relocated to enable us to complete the works in a timely manner.

Proposed parking bays for existing lamp column electric vehicle charging points – April 2023
We proposed introducing designated charging bays next to existing lamp column charging points at various locations in Haringey.
The existing charging points were installed in 2020. As dedicated parking bays were not introduced then, we received feedback from some residents that they were having problems accessing the charging points.
In 2021, we installed signs at the locations to advise motorists to keep the locations clear if not charging, with the aim of helping electric vehicles access the charging points. However, the issue remained and we continued to receive complaints.
To make sure electric vehicles can access these charging points, it was necessary to allocate electric vehicle-only parking bays next to these charging points.
