Contact component

Part of: Components

When asking someone to contact us, you can say something like 'Contact us for more information', but do not put the details in the page body. For consistency across the site, only add contact details to a page through a contact component.

As the component is always at the bottom of a page, we assume everyone will learn that's where those details are.

A contact component can be added to:

  • guide pages
  • service pages
  • step by steps

You can add a contact component (or any component) through the content dashboard or by clicking 'Add/select component' at the bottom of the page in edit.

Styling is automatically applied.

Lots of detail can be added including:

  • address
  • mapping
  • opening hours
  • email
  • phone number
  • links

Before you add a new contact component, check to see if it already exists.

Always put the word 'Contact' at the beginning of the contact component label.

If calls are being routed to customer services, put 'Contact customer services' first, like: Contact customer services: anti-social behaviour complaint.

External contacts

If mentioning an external organisation, do not put their contact details in a contact component on our website.

Instead say something like: Contact Citizens Advice for help dealing with bailiffs.

Doing it this way means the user will always have access to the latest contact information.
