Consultation period
A 14-day public consultation period will start the day after we have received your valid application (this does not include bank holidays).
Public notice to display
During the 14-day consultation period, you must complete and clearly display a public notice in the window of your premises.
You can download a template for this:
You will need to display the notice setting out the details of your application for 14 days from the day after we receive your application. Failure to display a notice for the entire consultation period will invalidate your application.
Please take a photograph of your notice being displayed and it email to us.
Members of the public, responsible authorities or any other interested party may make a comment on your application during this time.
All comments will be considered when we make a decision on your application.
What happens next
Your application will be considered and a decision made within 14 days from when your consultation period ends.
When considering your application, we will take into account:
- public health and safety
- public amenities
- accessibility
- any comments received during the public consultation
Your application will either be:
- granted as applied for
- modified
- refused
Our decision is final and there is no right of appeal.
