National Apprenticeship Week 2025
Employers, apprentices and training providers will come together from 10 to 16 February 2025 to showcase the benefits of apprenticeships and opportunities available.
This accredited course is a suitable first step if you wish to become a professional counsellor or life coach. You will learn one-to-one communication and relationship skills on the course. You can use these skills in a wide range of contexts and roles. Learning about how to communicate effectively also improves your professional and personal relationships as part of your personal development. You will receive a CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) Level 2 Certificate in Counselling on successful course completion and assessment.
You must be be aged 19 or older by the 31st of August 2024. No previous training or experience is required. You need to have a good standard of English equivalent to GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills. You need to have basic IT skills, and know how to use a Word processing programme. You need to be able to cope emotionally with the course content.
Yes. You will be assessed and interviewed before you can enrol on the course to ensure that the course meets your needs. If the course is not suitable, the tutor will help to direct you to an alternative course.
You will be taught using a variety of teaching and learning methods covering presentation, discussion, role plays, case studies, assignments, self reviews, group work, tutorials and practical activities.
You will receive regular oral and written feedback from your tutor and peers throughout the course.
You can give your views at enrolment,during and at the end of the course to your course tutor, internal verifier and other staff responsible for the programme. You will be able to formally record your views on the course at the end by completing an evaluation form. You may also complete SFA & OFSTED surveys.
You can progress to Level 3 in Counselling Studies or Level 3 in Life Coaching Studies.
Your attendance, punctuality and coursework completion are keys to your learning and progression on the course. Your coursework is verified by CPCAB, the Counselling awarding body.
This course is for adults who are looking to develop communication skills and gain a certificate in which could lead to employment in a variety of work settings as well as enhance your communication and professional skills to support others.
