Haringey Council Leader Cllr Peray Ahmet celebrated the completion of the first phase of the flagship project by visiting the newly refurbished homes to see the major improvements.
So far, an impressive 103 out of the 234 late Victorian properties have benefitted from new roofs, windows and entrance doors making them more energy efficient.
The project also includes the installation of new modern kitchens and bathrooms as well as external brickwork repairs.
Leader Cllr Peray Ahmet, who is also ward member for Noel Park, said:
Haringey is committed to fairer housing. That means making sure our residents have safe, stable, warm and comfortable homes.
I’m proud that, despite many pressures, we are able to invest in existing homes and delighted to have reached this important milestone at Noel Park.
This is one of our most significant improvement schemes and is moving us closer to our target of bringing all our homes up to ‘decent homes’ standard by 2028.
Haringey is on track to deliver 3,000 new high-quality homes by 2031, built to the very best environmental and design standards, with more than 2,000 underway or completed.
A retrofit of around 200 homes is about to get underway at the Coldfall Estate, N10 and Tower Gardens North, N17 to make them energy efficient, cutting bills for low-income families, whilst improving indoor air quality.
The council has set a target of ensuring all council homes meet the decent homes standard by 2028 with significant investment planned for new kitchens and bathrooms, improvements to heating and electrical systems and roof, window and door replacements.
