The regeneration programme hit another major milestone last night (17 June 2025) when Cabinet agreed a contract to start external refurbishment.
This significant investment will go into new communal flooring for the blocks, waterproofing to existing balconies, upgrades to essential pipework, repairs to concrete and redecoration externally. It follows a recent programme of fire safety upgrades which concluded earlier this year.
The Broadwater Farm transformation project will see more than 300 new homes built at the estate, with construction of the first 40 due to be completed in May 2026.
They are part of an exciting £250million programme of regeneration that has been developed in partnership with residents and wider stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of housing services across the area.
Cllr Sarah Williams, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning, said:
“I’m delighted we will be able to start work on external refurbishment as part of our transformation programme.
“We are determined to deliver the highest quality housing services for the estate and this package of works continues our commitment to upgrade existing homes alongside our ambitious new build programme.
“Residents have been heavily involved in designing the changes, which will enhance the communal areas and external appearance of the blocks – giving the estate a fresh new look.
“This is another significant moment for the community living on Broadwater Farm.”
