Families in Tottenham will benefit from the latest high quality council homes built in the borough.
Deputy Leader Cllr Sarah Williams was joined by ward members Cllr Ibrahim Ali and Cllr Sue Jameson as they met some of the residents reaping the rewards of living in the White Hart Lane development for the official unveiling this week.
The scheme is part of the council’s multi-award-winning housebuilding programme, with more than 2,000 homes already underway or completed.
The new development of six properties is a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom homes, let at council rents. All feature a private outdoor space, balcony or terrace and access to an attractively landscaped and enclosed communal garden to the rear.
Cllr Sarah Williams, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning, said:
This is another important milestone as we look to provide much-needed council homes for our residents in the face of the on-going housing crisis.
I’m proud that more families are benefiting from a new start and the opportunity for a secure future in warm, safe, high-quality council homes built to the very best standards.
Our essential housebuilding programme is transforming lives and remains firmly on track to deliver 3,000 new council homes by 2031.
Sustainability has been central to the design of the scheme, which uses high levels of insulation and renewable energy measures such as solar panels to help keep household running costs low.
The car free scheme provides cycle parking to encourage and facilitate active travel.
