Young female footballers go gunning for glory at Alessia Cup

Young girls from our borough and beyond got to meet one of their sporting idols in Haringey on Thursday (6 November 2025) as Alessia Russo visited New River Leisure Centre.

The Arsenal Women and England Women’s striker was at the White Hart Lane-based facility for the successful staging of the Alessia Cup – a 180-strong, girls’ football tournament in partnership with Goals 4 Girls and powered by Sky.

Chislehurst defeated Channing School in a keenly-contested final to win the special prize of private-box tickets to the Women’s Super League (WSL) fixture between Arsenal and Chelsea at Emirates Stadium tomorrow (Saturday 8 November 2025, Kick-off: 12noon).
