Training strings 

This group is for all string instruments. It plays a fun variety of musical styles and gives players experience of playing as part of a group.  

Players are usually ready for this group when they can confidently read music and play some simple tunes. Ideally they will have attended a Strings Fun Day. Fun Days are usually at the beginning of every other term. Contact us, or your school, for details.

Hornsey training strings 

Group details are:

• 10 weeks a term
• Tuesdays, 4.40pm to 6.10pm 
• Rokesly Junior School, Rokesly Avenue, London N8 8NH
• £42.75 per term (no charge for pupils receiving free school meals) 

Tottenham training strings 

Group details are:

• 10 weeks a term
• Thursdays, 4pm to 5.15pm 
• Duke's Aldridge Academy, Trulock Road, London N17 0PG 
• £29.00 per term (no charge for pupils receiving free school meals) 

Intermediate strings

This group plays a variety of musical styles and is for players of the: 

• violin 
• viola 
• cello 
• double base 

Players can join the intermediate group when they can easily read music and are at least Grade 2 standard. They will ideally have experience of playing as part of a music group (ensemble). 

Group details are:

• 10 weeks a term
• Tuesdays, 4.40pm to 6.10pm

Rising strings

This group plays a variety of music and musical styles and is for players of the: 

• violin 
• viola 
• cello 
• double base 

Players can join the rising group when they can read music easily and are at least Grade 3 standard. They will ideally have experience of playing as part of a music group (ensemble). 

Group details are:

• 10 weeks a term
• Tuesdays, 4.40pm to 6.10pm

• £42.75 per term (no charge for pupils receiving free school meals) 

Concert string orchestra

A full orchestra for players of all string instruments of Grade 4 standard and above. 

Group details are:

• 10 weeks a term
• Tuesdays, 4.40pm to 6.10pm 
• Rokesly Junior School, Rokesly Avenue, London N8 8NH 
• £42.75 per term (no charge for pupils receiving free school meals)
