LGBTQ+ History Month resources for the SEND community

February marks LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Queer) History Month in the UK. This month-long observance celebrates the lives, history and achievements of the LGBTQ+ community.

We’ve collected a list of resources and organisations at the intersection of LGBTQ+, special needs and disabilities to support schools, parents/carers and young people.

London Friend: LGBTQ+ Mental Health and Well-being Charity

London Friend is an LGBTQ+ mental health and well-being charity (external link).

  • LGBTQ+ Neurodivergent Group: London Friend provides a confidential and safe space for LGBTIA+ people on the Autism/Neurodiversity Spectrum every month for anyone 18+
    • Every first Saturday of the month from 1pm to 3pm and every third Monday of the month from 7pm to 9pm
